Junior Preview

Emirates Junior Scottish Cup

ALL eyes will be on Linlithgow Rose this weekend if their Emirates Junior Scottish Cup tie with Whitletts can beat the frosty weather.

Rose, winners of the trophy in 2007, have been in good form of late but in the Ayrshire side they face a step into the unknown.

However Rose dumped fellow Ayrshire side Cumnock out in round four so they will be confident of inflicting the same fate on Whitletts.

The biggest problem for Rose manager Dave Baikie is who to name in his line-up as he has an almost full squad of players fit and desperate to fire Linlithgow to Scottish Cup glory.

Rose will bring with them a huge travelling support as they eye a quarter-final place.

Super League

THERE is an all-West Lothian clash in the Superleague on Saturday when conquerors of Bo’ness Bathgate make the short trip to Central Park to face county neighbours Whitburn.

The Burnie are suffering from severe financial problems at the moment and as a result they have transfer-listed a host of players including keeper Ryan McGurk, striker Stevie Weir and Andy Doig.

Whitburn are also sailing perilously close to the drop zone while Bathgate look to be heading in the other direction.

The Jags are on good form demonstrated by their stunning 3-2 win over league leaders Bo’ness in the Scottish Cup last weekend.

Premier League

FAULDHOUSE travel to Tayport who are on a high having beaten Newtongrange to seal a prized place in the quarter-finals of the Scottish.

But Fauldhouse have found some form recently and will go there looking for something from the game.

Armadale welcome Blairgowrie with home fans expecting a win after the Dale have been blasting the goals in recently.

South Division

THE big game of the day is at Tranent where Broxburn are the visitors.

Elsewhere, Blackburn facing a local derby against West Calder, Stoneyburn meet City Side Spartans while Pumpherston face Harthill. Finally, Livingston with Andy Johnstone now in charge are at home to Sauchie.
