Superleague: Glenrothes 1- 1 Whitburn.
WHITBURN’S survival hopes took another dent this weekend when they dropped another two points away to fellow basement boys Glenrothes.
The result means both clubs are propping up the rest of the league on nine points.
Burnie took the lead when Glens defender David Caine turned the ball past his own keeper for an own-goal but they couldn’t hold onto their lead as they were pegged back before the end.
Fife and Lothians Cup: Harthill Royal 2-2 Livingston Utd (Livingston won 4-2 pens).
LIVINGSTON eased through to the third round after a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over county neighbours Harthill.
Livi’s John Murphy opened the scoring after just two minutes but Harthill’s James Luke levelled ten minutes before the break but the visitors quickly regained the lead after they were awarded a spot kick which was dispatched by Murphy for his second of the match.
The pendulum swung back in the hosts favour five minutes after the restart when Mark Williams pounced.
In the shoot-out Shanks and Carmichael both missed from the spot for Harthill while MacAloney was off target for Livingston. The deciding spot-kick was converted by John Renwick.
PremierLeague: Armadale Thistle 1-2 Tayport.
THE Dale went down in their Premier League fixture this weekend which sees them leapfrogged by their opponents.
Port broke the deadlock after just seven minutes through a Ronnie Kenneth header and they doubled their lead on the quarter hour mark through Grant Manzie. After the break Gary McCulloch halved the deficit.
Kinnoull 2-1 Fauldhouse Utd.
BOTTOM club Fauldhouse continued their poor run of results with a 2-1 away defeat to Kinnoull.
South League: Blackburn Utd 1-4 Tranent.
BLACKBURN’S South Division title hopes suffered a blow as they were hammered by their title rivals at Murrayfield Park. Tranent are now 16 points clear at the top but they have played five games more than Blackburn.
Broxburn Ath 2-1 Dunbar Utd.
WEST LOTHIAN’S second South Division title hopefuls picked up a hard fought win. John Jeffries opened the scoring for Broxburn before the county club were pegged back but Charles Pearson won it for Broxburn.
Pumpherston 1 - 4 Edinburgh Utd.
STRUGGLING Pumphy went down heavily at home.
Sauchie 0-4 West Calder Utd.
WEST Calder scored three goals in a whirlwind first half. Steven Johnstone scored from the spot before Brett Agnew doubled their lead. Johnstone was on hand again just before the break and Stuart McLeod ended the rout.
Spartans 3-1 Stoneyburn.
SPARTANS slayed Stoneyburn in a convincing display.
