Whitburn manager Derek Strickland eyes Superleague survival

Kevin Donnelly

Whitburn 1 Bonnyrigg 0

DEREK STRICKLAND admits his side are showing the right kind of form to escape the relegation battle after another excellent win.
The Whitburn boss has guided his side to seven points in thier last three games to move to within a single point of three clubs.
And Strickland is adamant on their day Whitburn are a match for any side in the Super League.
He said: “We are on a good recent run of results and although there is still a long way to go we are heading in the right direction.
“We have had our struggles this season and they have been well documented.
“We are down to the bare bones in terms of squad but the boys are giving their all and we are getting the results as well.
“It was important we beat Bonnyrigg to put us back in the pack now.
“We are not just chasing one team and there are three now for us within reach.
“It is important we keep going but I’m confident when we have our full squad available and injury free we are a good side and more than good enough to move up the table.”
Kevin Donnelly scored the only goal of the game for Whitburn to take the West Lothian side to within one point of Lochee United, Camelon and Linlithgow Rose - although the latter have played less games.
