West Calder pupil helps Tynecastle to Scottish Cup glory

EAST CALDER wonderkid Cameron Young was the toast of Tynecastle last week after leading them to a tremendous Scottish Cup glory.

Young, a pupil at West Calder High School, skippered Tynecastle under-14s to glory against Drumchapel United in the final of the Scottish Youth FA Challenge Cup which was plated at Airdrie United’s Excelsior Stadium.

But Young ensured he earned the chance to get his hands on the prized silverware by helping the side turn around a 2-1 half-time deficit before grabbing a priceless last minute winner himself to clinch the cup and start the celebrations.

It was the second year in a row in which the West Lothian born and bred starlet has picked up a winners medal in the tournament.

Next on the football horizon for Cameron is an international tournament where he will starring as he plays in the Gothia Cup in Sweden for Tynecastle.
