Fauldhouse Utd 1 – 1 Blairgowrie
THE points were shared in a relegation six-pointer last weekend as Fauldhouse and Blairgowrie scored a goal apiece.
Kenny Martin edged the West Lothian side ahead but they were agonisingly pegged back just five minutes from the end for a result that leaves the Hoose second bottom of the pile.
They do, however, have two games in hand on Blairgowrie, who are only two points and a place, better off.
South Division
Blackburn Utd 2 – 4 West Calder Utd
BLACKBURN’S poor run of form continued when they were hit for four by county neighbours West Calder.
Andy McQuillan netted before going from saint to sinner for the hosts when he saw red. Nicky Millar netted the other for Blackburn. For West Calder, Jack Lorek bagged a brace while Steven Johnstone – who missed first-half a penalty – and Stuart MacLeod also found the net.
Broxburn Ath 1 – 0 Haddington Ath
CHARLES PEARSON scored what could prove to be the most important goal of Broxburn’s season so far with the game’s only goal to put the county side firmly in the driving seat in the title race.
Edinburgh Utd 4 – 1 Harthill Royal
IN a tough week for fans of Harthill a trip to the capital saw them witness a royal drubbing when their side was humbled 4-1 by Edinburgh United.
Stoneyburn 1 – 2 Spartans
PADDY DOONAN found the net for Stoneyburn but it wasn’t enough for his side to avoid defeat against Spartans.
Tranent 1 – 1 Livingston Utd
LIVINGSTON did their county neighbours Broxburn a massive favour last week as they stunned league leaders Tranent by holding them to a draw on their own patch.
The result by Livi means the South Division title is now beyond Tranent’s grasp. They still lead second-placed Broxburn by a point but they have crucially played two extra fixtures.
Tranent took the lead and thought they would add to their early goal and take the points, but Carlo Santi levelled for Livingston.
Livingston Utd 1 – 0 Harthill Royal
LEE DOCHERTY’S first-half strike earned Livingston a crucial win in the battle to avoid finishing bottom of the pile.
The win sees Livi climb up to 12th spot and to within three points of their visitors two spots further ahead.
