Lions continue superb pre-season form

.

And it took a goalkeeping master class from Jags No.1 Jonny Tuffey to prevent the Highlanders suffering defeat against the rampant Lions at Almondvale.

From the outset Livi took the game to the visitors with Keaghan Jacobs bending a curling shot just wide then sharp-shooter Iain Russell sent a shot whistling narrowly past the post from a Jacobs corner.

However, it was Inverness who stormed ahead when Irishman Richie Foran netted for the fifth time in a prolific pre-season when he forced home a Jonny Hayes cross.

Livi were furious with the goal as linesman Gavin Duncan had flagged Foran offside but the man in the middle, Stevie Conroy, failed to spot the flag and the goal stood.

After the break Livingston cranked up the pressure and it took the acrobatics of Tuffey to deny trialist Colin Samuel, teenager Ross Gray and Keaghan Jacobs.

However, Tuffey was powerless to deny Livi their leveller when midfielder Kyle Jacobs got his laces firmly behind a 20-yard drive that flew into the top corner to level the terms.

Tuffey remained the busier of the two keepers and Samuel and Craig Barr were denied a goal by the Northern Ireland cap while Kenny Deuchar glanced a header narrowly wide.
