Armadale grab Juniors Cup win over Cruden Bay

Armadale Thistle 3, Cruden Bay 1

ARMADALE Thistle booked their place in the second round of the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup with a 3-1 win over Cruden Bay.

Dale dominated the early exchanges and should have already been two goals ahead before they opened the scoring through Robbie Feeney on the half hour mark.

Thistle were in cruise control for most of the first half before being given a scare before half time.

Bay were awarded a spot kick following a Jamie Valentine foul which Scott Lynch slotted home six minutes before the break.

But the North-east side’s joy was to be short-lived with an instant reply from Scott Mauchline when a close-range finish handed the lead back to Thistle a minute after the re-start.

Dale continued to press in the second half, squandering a number of good chances.

But Callum Rarity put the tie beyond Cruden Bay when he fired home Dale’s third on 70 minutes.
