Pumpherston 2, Harthill Royal 1
SUPER sub Aaran Lawrie grabbed Pumpherston their first league win of the season as Harthill slumped to their fourth straight defeat.
The visitors caught Juniors napping when Bobby Thomson fired Royal ahead on eight minutes.
But Pumpherston soon pegged the visitors back when Jamie Adamson collected the ball in space inside the Harthill box.
His shot was well saved by the Harthill keeper before the ball fell to James Sommerville who made no mistake from eight yards.
Sommerville narrowly missed a great chance when he latched onto an inviting free kick but could only direct the ball wide.
Former Pumphy player Gordon Adam was unlucky to see his effort deflected by the post for a corner kick.
Then Harthill’s Darren Cameron saw another effort saved well by Pumphy’s shot stopper keeping the score level at half time.
Pumpherston brought on Lawrie for Jake Carson in a switch that would prove decisive.
McCann slotted in Lawrie who slid the ball past Neally and handed Pumphy the win that lifts them to eighth in the league and drops Harthill to 11th.
