A DAVID Morrison double handed Broxburn a deserved win over Broughty Athletic.
The visitors dominated from the start and deservedly took the lead midway through the first half when Morrison lashed a 25 yard shot into the net following a goalmouth scramble.
John Jeffrey came close to doubling Broxburn’s advantage but the Broughty keeper pulled off a superb save.
But that only delayed the inevitable and six minutes later Mark Cowan was celebrating after netting from 10 yards to give Broxburn a 2-0 half-time lead.
The visitors maintained their momentum after the restart and Morrison clinched the win with another 25-yard effort.
Adam Fairweather was replaced by Steve Kiczynski after taking a knock, but it did nothing to upset Broxburn's rhythm and the pressure continued.
Further attempts on goal by Gary Miller and Jeffrey were again saved by inspired Broughty keeper.
The home side mounted a late rally, but Lee Holliday in the Broxburn goal showed again that he is a goalkeeper at the top of his game, and dealt with the threat superbly.
A confidence booster for Broxburn ahead of their Scottish Junior Cup tie against Girvan at Albyn Park this week.
