Dedridge 96-year-old among punters getting to grips with the Scottish Cup trophy
A 96-YEAR-OLD football fan managed a special double as cup fever hit a Livingston bookie.
Peter Taylor got his hands on the famous Scottish Cup when the trophy came to the William Hill in The Centre, Livingston.
And after the Rangers fan held aloft the coveted piece of silverware, he sealed a personal cup double.
He said: “Many years ago I got to hold the League Cup in a Celtic Supporters’ Club.
“That was pretty special and this is even better!”
Peter, who lives in Dedridge, has fond memories of the Scottish Cup and singled out a Gers win over Celtic in 1928 as his favourite cup moment.
He was one of a series of William Hill visitors who got to hold the trophy as part of a promotion with the bookmaker sponsoring the competition this season.
The trophy was on show throughout Thursday afternoon ahead of the third round cup clashes taking place across the country last weekend.
Livi players also got their hands on the cup as the trophy was brought to their training sessions that morning.
