Armadale v Kilsyth preview

JIM HENDERSON fears that Armadale will miss home advantage as a result of their Junior Cup replay being switched to Broxburn’s 4G pitch.

The venue for the New Year’s Eve showdown with Kilsyth was switched by SJFA bosses desperate to get the third round of fixtures out of the way before the bells sound the end of 2011.

And Dale gaffer Henderson hopes the Volunteer Park support will make the trip to Albyn Park.

He said: “It’s not ideal for us. We’d be expecting a big crowd at home and that can make all the difference.

“We’ll just have to wait and see if we get the same [crowd] in Broxburn.

“But the main thing is that the game is played and that we are ready for it and up for it.”

The two teams drew when they met in Kilsyth. And with the replay being postponed from Christmas Eve, the venue was switched to Broxburn where only snow could force the game to be called off.

But despite the bad timing of playing the match on Hogmanay, Henderson is adamant his players are determined to make it to through to a fourth round tie against Arthurlie.

He said: “Every club wants to stay in the Scottish [Junior] Cup and do as well in it as possible.

“We’re exactly the same.

“We’ve had some really tough games to get to this stage and we all want to go as far as we can.”
